Verpan released Verner Panton's Series 430 Chair at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair nearly 50 years after it was designed. This comfortably padded chair is Panton's first to feature four legs, and will be first available in four hand-picked variations of wool and velvet - in dusty shades of blue, green and grey.
These colors demonstrate how contemporary and varied Verner Panton's designs have become and how well they fit with modern décor. Be it the grey, classic wool fabric by Nanna Ditzel or Raf Simons’ bottle-green or midnight-blue velvet for Series 430, an almost monochrome interplay appears between the upholstery and the black powder-coated stainless steel legs.
Panton’s goal was to design a dining chair that was just as comfortable as resting in an armchair. That is why Series 430 has a wide, enveloping back and a well-padded seat with elastic webbing, which allows it to better adjust to the weight of the body and provides a relaxing seating position.
Verpan has not deviated from Panton’s original designs, but adapted them in accordance with today’s standards and requirements for sturdiness.
